What Documents You Should Receive When Buying a New Mercedes-Benz

Use this practical document checklist when buying a new Mercedes-Benz in Armenia, from the written offer and VIN to warranty information, payment records and handover papers.

Published

Before payment: the written offer and specification

Begin with a written offer that identifies the seller and the vehicle being discussed. It should show the model derivative, agreed equipment, exterior and interior specification, price, payment schedule, expected delivery conditions and included accessories. When a VIN is available, it should be linked to the offer.

Do not use a general brochure as the final specification. If the vehicle is ordered and some details may change, the offer or agreement should explain which changes are possible and how you will approve them.

The sales agreement, invoice and payment records

The sales agreement should clearly name the buyer, legal seller and vehicle, and set out the price, currency, payment terms, delivery or acceptance procedure and responsibilities of each party. Read cancellation, delay and refund clauses before signing.

Obtain an invoice or other required payment document for every amount paid and keep bank confirmations or receipts. The payment recipient should match the legal seller or be clearly explained in the agreement. Never rely only on a messenger confirmation for a material payment.

Vehicle identity and registration documents

At handover, confirm that the VIN on the vehicle matches the agreement, invoice and all vehicle documents. Receive the documents required for ownership and registration in Armenia, as applicable to the transaction, together with any conformity, customs or origin documentation that the seller is responsible for providing.

Requirements can vary by vehicle and transaction, so ask the dealer for a written handover list before the delivery date. Check names, identification numbers and dates for errors while corrections are still easy to make.

Warranty information

Receive the warranty terms applicable to the specific vehicle and market, not only a general promotional statement. The documents should make it possible to understand the coverage start, responsible organisation, exclusions, maintenance obligations and claim process.

Ask the dealer to explain any point you do not understand and record agreed clarifications in writing. Keep the warranty information with the sales documents, because future questions may depend on the original handover date, mileage and vehicle status.

The handover and acceptance record

Use a handover or acceptance record to document the vehicle’s condition and what was delivered. Check the VIN, mileage, keys, manuals or digital access details, emergency equipment, charging cables where applicable and every agreed accessory. Note any missing or damaged item before signing acceptance.

The dealer should also explain essential controls and provide the relevant sales and service contacts. Take your own photographs of the vehicle and delivered items for your records; they complement, but do not replace, the signed handover document.

Service records and digital access

Ask how scheduled maintenance will be documented and what report you should receive after each visit. For supported Mercedes-Benz vehicles, digital service documentation can maintain a central record, but you should still retain service reports and invoices.

If the vehicle includes digital services, confirm which account or access steps are available in Armenia and which information is being transferred to you. Do not share passwords; complete account setup through the official process and keep recovery information under your control.

Build one complete ownership file

Keep the offer, signed agreement, invoices, payment confirmations, registration and vehicle documents, warranty terms, handover record, equipment list and later service records together. Store secure digital copies separately from the originals and avoid placing sensitive documents in an unprotected shared folder.

Before leaving the showroom, compare your handover checklist with the actual package. Avangard Motors can explain which documents apply to the Mercedes-Benz vehicle and transaction you are completing in Armenia; request that list early enough to resolve questions before delivery.
